Privacy Policy

1What data we collect

ServiceDeco collects only the data you explicitly enter or choose to share. All of it is stored locally on your device and never transmitted to our servers, except where noted below.

The data you create in ServiceDeco includes:

• Personal identifiers — your name, dive buddy names, or other personal details you choose to enter in dive log records and notes
• Location data — dive site names and, if you grant permission, GPS coordinates captured when logging a dive. Location is used solely to record where a dive took place and is stored on your device only.
• Gear records — item names, types, makes, models, and serial numbers you enter
• Service rules — intervals, baselines, and reminder thresholds you configure
• Service history — dates, dive counts, cost, shop name, and notes you log
• Dive log entries — dates, sites, depth, duration, and gear used
• Photos and documents — images you attach to gear records or service events
• App preferences — jurisdiction, units, and notification settings

2How data is stored

Your data is stored in a local SQLite database on your iOS device, managed by the app using the Drift library. This database is:

• Protected by iOS's app sandbox — no other app can access it
• Included in iOS device backups (iCloud Backup or local iTunes/Finder backup) if you have backups enabled in iOS Settings. This is controlled entirely by you and Apple, not by us.
• Permanently deleted when you delete the app from your device

We have designed the app to be fully functional with no network connection. ServiceDeco makes no outbound network requests during normal operation.

3Data we never collect

The following categories of data are never collected by us or any integrated third party:

Personal identifiers (names, buddy details) and location data (dive site GPS) are collected and stored locally on your device as part of dive log records. Neither is transmitted to us or to third parties. See Section 1 for full details.

For data collected via third-party analytics, see Section 4.

4Third-party analytics

ServiceDeco uses third-party analytics tools to help us understand how the app is used, identify crashes, and improve the experience. These tools may collect:

• Usage data — screens viewed, features used, session length, and button taps
• Device information — iOS version, device model, app version, and system language
• Crash reports — stack traces and error logs when the app crashes (no personal data or gear content is included)
• Anonymised identifiers — a randomly generated device-level ID that does not identify you personally and is not linked to any account

The analytics provider(s) we use may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses to ensure adequate data protection.

Your choices: You can opt out of analytics data collection at any time in Settings → Privacy → Analytics. When opted out, no usage or crash data is transmitted.

5Optional cloud backup

A future release may offer an optional encrypted cloud backup feature. If and when this feature is added:

• It will be strictly opt-in — off by default
• Your data will be end-to-end encrypted before leaving your device
• We will not be able to read the contents of your backup
• This Privacy Policy will be updated before the feature launches

6Crash reporting

Crash data is collected as part of our analytics integration described in Section 4. Crash reports contain technical stack traces, iOS version, and device model only. They never include your gear records, service history, dive logs, or any content you have entered in the app.

7Children's privacy

ServiceDeco is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has used ServiceDeco and you have concerns, please contact us at contact@perpet.io.

8Your rights

You have direct control over all gear and dive data, which resides on your device. You also have rights over any analytics data processed via our third-party analytics provider:

• Right to access your app data: Open the app — everything you've entered is right there.
• Right to export: Use Settings → Export CSV to export a complete copy of your app data at any time, for free.
• Right to delete app data: Delete any record in the app, or delete the app entirely to remove all local data.
• Right to opt out of analytics: Settings → Privacy → Analytics — disables all analytics and crash data collection immediately.
• GDPR / EEA rights over analytics data: You may request access, rectification, or erasure of analytics data processed by our analytics provider. Contact us at contact@perpet.io and we will respond within 30 days.

9Data retention & deletion

Your app data (gear records, service history, dive logs) is retained on your device until you delete it. We have no copy.

• Deleting a record: Removed from local storage immediately.
• Deleting the app: Permanently removes all ServiceDeco app data from your device.
• Device backups: If your data exists in an iCloud or local backup, it persists until you delete those backups in iOS Settings.

Analytics data is retained by our analytics provider for a maximum of 24 months, after which it is automatically deleted or anonymised. You may request earlier deletion by contacting us at contact@perpet.io.

10Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves. When we make material changes:

• The "last updated" date at the top of this page will be updated
• If the change is significant, we will notify you via an in-app notice on next launch
• Continued use of the app after notice constitutes acceptance
